# The yoyo Cool Wall

Classic Top Gear fans will remember the [Cool Wall,](https://topgear.fandom.com/wiki/The_Cool_Wall) in this thread we’ll do the same thing with yoyos. Pay no mind to the yoyo’s quality, only it’s “coolness.” Great performers can be uncool, and vice versa. Keep it as opinionated and _lighthearted_ as possible. Here are my picks:
**Sub Zero:**
_Tom Kuhn No-Jive -_ Do I even need to explain this one? This yoyo is so cool I’m pretty sure it won’t melt through polyester string.
_Yoyojam Hitman -_ Dude! It’s called the Hitman! That’s awesome.
**Cool:**
_OG Duncan Butterfly -_ Anything retro is cool. Along with the No-Jive, fixed axles exude a sort of effortless nonchalance.
_Yoyojam Dark Magic 2 -_ Everyone who watches Andre Boulay’s tutorials thinks the same thing: “His yoyo is awesome.” The DM2 is the movie star of the yoyo world.
_Yomega Fireball/Raider -_ These basically took over the world, one school playground at a time. Why? Because they’re cool.
**Uncool:**
_Onedrop Terrarian -_ Yes, this yoyo is fantastic, like everything OneDrop makes. But come on, am I gonna tell non-nerds that I yoyo _and_ that I play Terraria? I can’t pull that off.
_Duncan Metal Drifter -_ That skull counterweight is a bit tryhard.
_Yoyofactory Shutter -_ Good performing, versatile, well priced. But everybody knows it. It’s even the yoyo AI recommends… so uncool.
_Yoyofactory DNA -_ If the DM2 is the movie star, the DNA is the trend-chasing online influencer.
**Seriously Uncool:**
_Yoyofactory DV888 -_ Ben McPhee’s sense of humor in yoyo form.
_Magicyoyo K1 -_ This is a fact. Your classmate/coworker saw you yoyoing once. They thought “That looks easy” and ordered a yoyo on Amazon. Not YoYoExpert, Amazon. That yoyo was a Magicyoyo K1.

Cool: pretty much everything by SPYY and Werrd
Uncool: Doorknob
So uncool that it cycles round to a new higher level of cool: Unisex Yoyo Ball

Liking yoyos makes you a massive nerd. Playing video games is comparatively mainstream. Thus, playing with a video-game-related yoyo is no less cool than yoyoing is to begin with.

I believe yoyo coolness lives on a dichotomy: there is psychedelic butterfly cool, and then everything else.
…and then the special un cool place for those light up clutch yoyos with company logos on them, handed out at career fairs

Hot take, the k1 is a better yoyo than the k2. I recommend that to kids more than the k2.

I really miss my glow yellow K2. I left it in a hotel a month or so ago by accident.
I bought the glow green K3 Aurora to replace it and it just does not click with me at all. The green just does not look good and just don’t enjoy how it plays, the Crystal felt like it had a little personality to it at least…
Have not tried the K1, that’s the hubstacked one right?

You know that bit when Jeremy Clarkson walks to the uncool part of the wall, and just keeps walking into the crowd? That’s how I’d see it.
