I need tips on throwing a spin top, just got a Ripcord last night and i need tips on how to throw it!

You probably need to first throw away the string. They generally come with one that is too short. The ideal length depends on the string thickness (thicker = shorter) but the wrap should about 1 turn shy of completely covering the rough finish on the side of the body.
