Sorry about the double post, I wanted to be able to see them side by side. The Exit 8 looks like someone blended a bell shape with a double v shape. ---

Here’s how I define shapes. When I look at the catch zone of a yoyo, what does it look like? If it looks like the letter “h,” than I call it an H-shape. Examples would be the Super G and Genesis. If you look at the catch zone of a V-shape the area above the bearing will appear to form a “v.” Another common shape is what I call the Protostar shape. You can see it on the Protostar, Classic, and many, many more. ---

I would call that an organic v shape. I think most yoyos fall inbetween two categories, so you need to list two to accurately describe them. ---

I’m so happy you saw an H though, cause it means I’m not totally crazy. Well…not in this way anyway. 😃 Take a crack at that green yo-yo…curious what you see there. ---

We were discussing the letter U earlier in the thread. We were thinking that Evilyo definitely resembles a letter U, and the YYJ Theory too. I was thinking H too for the last one. I see the above as an H shape. As for the Exit 8 you showed earlier, that is definitely a bell shape, or maybe what I’d call a “gull” (as in seagull) shape, because the profile looks like those little birds we all drew as children.
