# The “New” topic filter

Hi, André. I’m just curious. Is there a new algorithm or something that pulls topics out of the “New” topics list even if a user hasn’t read the topic?
I don’t have specific examples other than noticing that the quantity of “New” topics seems to shrink as I visit that filter, even if I hadn’t read a topic.

Sorry - I did start looking into this - but December is a busy month on my end and I’m still catching up to a few things from that month!
The New View shows you topics new since your ‘last visit’ is what I have gathered - so its less of an inbox and more of a since your last visit… Does that seem to make sense with what you are seeing maybe?

Yes, that makes sense. I like your analogy of less of an “inbox”.
It does seem that a “new” clock starts for each individual topic.
