When I was first picking up a yo-yo again I was really enamored with whip to 1.5 and beefhooks, but couldn’t really understand how to actually do either.
Now, a little over a year later I decided to try them over the last week and can hit both pretty consistently now. I don’t know if any tricks have made me feel my progress more than these two.

Lol yeah I do.
Been drilling almost nothing but beefhook the past week. Yesterday it just kind of clicked and now it’s around 1/5 that i land it regardless of type of string used.
So today I put it in a chopsticks combo that is also begin working on the past month and I actually landed it first try.

Guys i am landing beef hook consistently after a month of practice! Hard work pays off. I just hit it 3 times in a row 😃 probably landed 100 times tonight. Only like 5 times the wrong way.
Edit: just hit it twice on the toonie!

So i landed a regular hook a few times tonight…
After learning beef hook, standard hook wasnt so bad.
I thought id be cool and try and get like a 2.0 hook
But had no idea what i was doing and was basically just waving my hand around and almost hitting my face with a chunk of metal

Slack tricks on a deeper state? Beef hook? I decided i wanted to try it.
Hit my dogs crate, so has a small ding on it.
But tonight i landed it a few times. I feel like its good for understanding the slack entirely. Idk maybe im crazy.
Next ill do a full responsive beef hook.
Is that even possible or am i about to jam some fingers?
I dont know.

You can definitely do slacks w a responsive Yoyo. Like just pinch the string and you can do a bunch of slack stuff. I’ve never been able to beef hook on a responsive but I also gave up trying pretty quick like it seemed like it was gonna be hard if not impossible because of the way the slack is set up like regular hook you can do because the slack stays pulling away from the Yoyo I think I’m not exactly sure but I can do those. Beefhook responsive felt different to me but it def still could be possible idk imma try it again tomorrow.
Edit: yeah you can Beefhook on a responsive Yoyo but it’s hard. Definitely punishing if you miss so maybe a good incentive to land it more hah I don’t know good luck.

Just got down the Kamikaze for the first time! It precessed like crazy during the weird magic drop to off-brand 1.5 mount part because it glanced my hand but I still landed it and binded (bound?)!

Finally starting to land Yuma’s wrist rejection slack to twisted brother!!(idk how to call it lol) it’s a super sick element I’ve been trying to figure out off and on for a few months now and it finally clicked this morning! I get what I need to do and what I was doing wrong for so long and now I just need to tighten up the execution! Lol I’m so stoked this one has been rough!
