Is there Zipline in gold that I can find? Like goldenrod? Or any Nylon? Idk why I’m asking you but I have too many questions about string due to how nice they can all look.

I think another reason I like bulk instead of boutique is because I really like to experiment with tricks by doing the tricks “wrong”. Sometimes, I end up with gnarly knots, and with the boutique string, I always wince when I get a knot in it. I suppose that’s similar to dinging your yoyo, or something like that, but sometimes when you pull out a knot you catch a thread and it feels like a string ding.(haha what? Yeah I know) To be fair, I’ve used 2 zipline strings for 2-3 months off and on, and they were decent, played well, and I don’t hate them. But I ended up gravitating towards bulk, to “keep the boutique nice.” When I realized that, boutique was just ineffective for me and how I like to yoyo. To each their own, though. I still look at boutique string, big red has caught my eye recently, but I’m not sure I’ll be converted any time soon.

Boutique spun poly that I have tried is not significantly longer lasting (edit: than bulk). It’s down to whether someone likes the formula or other features and doesn’t mind the cost.

Blends with enough nylon content to have real longevity are dominated by nylon in their other characteristics. Especially stretchiness, fluffiness and slickness. These are features that anyone could prefer, but they are differences.

Trilobal poly is the longest lasting, IME, but it has minimal stretch and loft, so it could be taken as relatively harsh.

Yoyostringlab has made me a loyal customer. I’ve tried a bunch of other strings and always go back to Venom or KaPow!

Q.E.D.

Why would I want to wash some posh string in a washer? Just put another cheap, new one on and continue…

I like kitty string.

I really like the feeling of a fresh new string. I’ve tried boutique strings and they didn’t last that much longer in my experience. Not worth it to me.

I find that hard to believe. Bulk poly lasts around half an hour. Nylon string can last upwards of a year. I can’t imagine you’re blowing through nylon just as fast as bulk poly unless you’ve just never washed your hands in your entire life and it’s corroding the string immediately

hey here in Charleston there’s a bar right off the interstate that has a sign that says “most pbr 12oz cans sold” and its like 5 years running or something like that 😆 it would seem it’s a strong local tradition

Yeah, I prefer a new fresh string over a year old string :joy:

I had a nylon string, z air I think, and it lasted about 2 days of off and on play before I got tired of it. Kitty string lasts about 4 hours of play for me. I do wash my hands but maybe your hands are softer.

I get a lot of cheap Duncan and Magic yoyos for a yoyo club I have at my kids elementary school. They come with extra strings and they work just fine. Just like cheap bulk string. I prefer yysl for myself but it does the job. Lasts a good while but nothing special.

So I decided to order some kitty and yysl. I am totally cool with bulk yye poly, but maybe a change is in order.
