# string making question

Hello everyone, yomega here. I’ve been starting to take an interest in string making. I understand most of it, but dont understand one tiny detail. How do you make a string like 40 percent kevlar and 60 percent cotton? Thanks.

take 2 strands of kevlar, 3 strands of cotton twist them nice and tight, then fold them in half and allow to twist up again.

Exactly, the thread type is changed for part of your running the thread back and forth before twisting. Experiment with different numbers of one or the other type until you get the right weight and characteristics you are aiming for.
