I just got a 888 for Christmas and I was just wondering if its alright to leave hubstacks bearing unsheilded. I know it’s possible, but they arnt set into a seat so they are more exposed so I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea or not.

There might be a little more dust that comes in contact with the bearings, but it really isn’t a big deal.
It would probably be better to run them with shields, but you’ll be fine.

I keep mine on. Since there like any bearing if hubstack spin time decrease than just clean and lube.
