All the ones I have seen have the string fixed to the axle. ---

Well, as others said, the gap was hilariously too wide. Later that evening, the yoyo kinda just came apart (bad glue plus a fall off my desk). I ended up sanding the axle a bit, thinned that gap and now it works pretty well all things considered! I think I may have seen 1 or 2 in the hands of another person at the park…otherwise yea, they collect dust. ---

Yeah, I have one of those someone gifted to me. The string is glued to the axle. It sits on the shelf with the others because it’s a yoyo… :wink:
