Solar Eclipse at home: pinhole camera, with very partial coverage.

What we had in CA.

Northern Illinois. I just got a telescope, learning how to use it still, couldn’t get it lined up right so I put the filter on my phone.

It can be fairly difficult to manually locate the Sun with a telescope by looking through the eyepiece. The trick is to use the shadow of the telescope. Once the shadow is at its smallest you’ll be pointed right at it without even looking through the eye piece.
