# Smashing YoYo Company Kubrick! & Kubrick Giveaway!

The [Kubrick](https://shop.yoyoexpert.com/collections/new-releases/products/kubrick-yoyo-by-smashing-yoyo-company?variant=42639869214910), an impressive prototype, unfortunately remained unrealized during Smashing’s active period.
Jordan of OPYOYOS conceived three broad designs and facilitated a team vote to determine the chosen model for production, with the [Kubrick](https://shop.yoyoexpert.com/collections/new-releases/products/kubrick-yoyo-by-smashing-yoyo-company?variant=42639869214910) emerging as the victor. Its primary goal wasn’t to excel in yoyo performance, but rather to provide a satisfying experience for its size.

The name “Kubrick” was inspired by Raf, a team member with a deep passion for cinema and a strong fondness for Stanley Kubrick’s movies. Given Kubrick’s penchant for utilizing expansive lenses in numerous scenes, the name resonated well with the yoyo’s wide design.

Smashing is still retired unfortunately, but gave the rights to Jordan to make this amazing prototype! - We have had these for awhile are playing catch up with a bunch of releases, but are on a good path now!
Even though it is an “older yo-yo” it still very much is up to date with the wider style trends currently happening today! 🙂
We love how this yo-yo plays and is one of our favorites!!
