Still just using a power drill. New bracket has upgraded my setup from dangerous to shoddy. ![IMG_20240218_085137216~3](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/yoyoexpert1/original/4X/6/1/b/61bc1f135dbaabfbfcbfe8bb0abf9006319bef67.jpeg) Also the glue failed while I was testing, so I’ve cut another axle and I’ll use epoxy instead (for now plumbers tape has saved the day) ---

It’s not in this photo but the whole thing is held down with a massive clamp. The table is also pretty heavy and piled with stuff. If I keep doing this I should probably get a facemask as well ---

It’s also actually pretty smooth! Used a hole saw to make the blank (from some Home Depot oak) and severely underestimated diameter (forgot that I’ll loose 1/4" when boring the blank). I like undersized yoyos but this is way too light. Also a tad narrow. Takeaways - don’t rush like I just did (aka use your breaks to make this) and I really could have used a thinner axle. Currently sized at 50mm x 27mm. No idea of it’s weight. Has zero momentum but it can handle kickflips easily. Bigger hole saw this time. ---

Update - got past the initial “bleh, this sucks” phase and into the “you need to learn how to use this” phase. It’s much more punishing to sloppy play due to its weight (or lack thereof). I’m not going to put much more effort in on this piece as it’s my first, leave it be how it is, learning experience and added challenge. Will have to say, it was better than the one I tried to make for a school project as a kid (out of pine, cut circle with a jigsaw, zero sanding as I knew very little of how to carve out wood) I thought Oak would have been weighty enough to work with unless because this was an undersized yoyo. Also next one, want to take more time on and not rush it, got a bit too excited and anxious to see the weight. Back to the drawing board. But I leave you guys with photographic evidence of a StM with this piece 🙂 ---

I had a big breakthrough tonight with my one-piece yoyo design. Ive figured out how to make response and throw to spin power conversion high. I’m confident i can make any one-piece yoyo I make consistently reliable without the need for user modification. Yess!!! I will be making and sending a KNack out for testing ASAP. ---
