This latest Knick-KNack prototype was a 5mm diameter brass axle. Kyle was finding that the 1/4" AL axle prototype was dying somewhat prematurely into stalls.

I figured a smaller diameter brass axle would fix that problem. I was right. No dying out in stalls and is much more powerful in general.
