Don’t know the gap width, but I’d call it perfect! The binds when played unresponsive with c bearing are perfect never a hint of snagging or slipping. Had to thick lube the half spec bearing to get the tug response where I wanted for responsive play. With a small bearing and thick lube it takes just the slightest tug to get to respond, but powers though long string tricks and combos without snagging! Truly blown away. I can honestly say i don’t think I’ve ever played a more all around capable yoyo and I’ve definitely never played a responsive yoyo that was anywhere close to this level of play. Oh and it feels **super** premium too! @Myk_Myk is gonna lose his mind over it at the next GA meet up! ---

Yes, but even set up responsive with half spec bearing the amount of string tricks and combos possible is incredible. For example, I literally just threw a double or nothing, rolled out of it, do a quick bounce of the string to a 1.5 mount, then do a 1.5 Eli hop, roll out of the 1.5 mount to a trapeze, and still do a fly away return no problem. Better yet you can do all that and go into a chopstick stall off the flyaway and proceed into modern stall style fixie tricks. All with the same lube half spec bearing. Get tired of that then throw in a c size bearing and you’ve got a super floaty, very capable, and premium feeling unresponsive throw. I really can’t think of another yo-yo that is able to accomplish all this so perfectly. ---

A durable responsive yo-yo that I can carry every day, throw one handed while walking, but then do a little more. (I often carry both a responsive and unresponsive for this purpose.) ---

Can’t yoyos like the Deepstate do all this too? I’ve never used any modern slimline yoyo, so I don’t really know. ---

Not like this! The deep state plays pretty well for modern responsive tricks, but I have to triple wrap the string and lube the bearing to get it to the responsiveness needed for consistent returns. Not sure how the deep state plays with a half spec bearing as I’ve never tried that :thinking:. The semi responsive c size bearing setup is fun for sure, but it’s tough to get adapt to once you’re used to a fixed axle for responsive play. Your yoyo on the other hand… with the half spec thick lubed bearing responds almost exactly like a good fixed axle and can still perform string tricks without snagging. Also, when you play your yoyo unresponsive with the c size bearing it’s dimensions feel completely normal not super slim line and more of a novelty as I find many modern slimlines played unresponsive. When played unresponsive the Alleycat and deepstate don’t feel like normal modern unresponsive YoYos they feel like novelty slim-lines imo. This thing @anon5341354 created is more like the size of a freehand zero or doc pops weekender. Perfect size for both responsive and unresponsive play without feeling weird either way. I just checkout ont rhw Deepstate on the YYE shop and saw that it uses the regular 10 Ball bearing. Does it take half spec bearings too? Can anyone confirm? ---

Just tried the same half spec bearing in a deep state. Number one it won’t tighten down all the way and just keeps spinning. Number two it plays fine for stall stuff, but string ticks are just as snaggy as all the other half specs I’ve played. Overall half spec is a no go in a deep state. 👎🏻 ---

If the plastic one you made @TheThrowingGnome responds similarly to my Cypress Pine SW, and I’m assuming they both have Cabal guts, then it is more responsive, but will handle fewer layers. I think it’s a matter of degrees. The Guts are able to take a slim bearing, because the plasitic or wood is thicker than on the Cabal or Rally, and therefore the axle doesn’t bottom out. Maybe you could even put a 1/2 spec in the Rally or Cabal, but I don’t have either of those. The Deep State uses a reduced gap with a full C bearing to achieve it’s sweet spot. I’ve been playing with the spinworthy, weekender, and deep state pretty much exclusive past two days and I can tell you 100% that neither the deep state or weekender is capable of what the spinworthy is when set up responsive. Plus neither the deep state or weekender can play like a normal unresponsive with just a quick bearing change. I’m telling you you’re gonna be blown away.
