Not another show off thread??? hehe I just realized that there was not a Side Effect thread. Seeing that not only One Drop uses them I figured it would be a cool way for people to see not only the One Drops but all the other yo-yo’s that use Side Effects!!! Here are mine… ---

Stargazer v1 with nickel Dietz hub press-fit mod by Landon Balk. Originally it was going to use an OG Project hub but the result had issues and Landon re-did it with my idea of a side effected YYR. The original Stargazer v1 plays kind of slow, but with added momentum from a really heavy SE like the brass spikes it screams. I really like the combo of super rim weight + side effect system but I always go right back to the brass spikes because it just feels so right. 2. Anti-Yo Dri-YWET with accidentally stripped cups that were accidentally re-plated (kinda) The bright idea was to tarnish the cups but it went too far and stripped away all the copper, leaving bare aluminum. Then the bright idea was to go ahead and strip the whole thing but it didn’t quite work and ended up dissolving some of the copper into solution then re-depositing it back onto the cups. The red heart Anti-Yo SEs just don’t look right now, but the brass domes set off the look nicely. Very steampunk. the end. ---

The Dietz with mini-discs looks so cool, I think, and plays really well that way… I have also had Victory side effects in it, as well as the full discs pictured… I think this is the “formula” that works best. Oddly, I love Dietz side effects, I wish I had more of them, I just don’t love them in the Dietz… ---
