I’ve always had great admiration for ILYY, especially their minimalist yet effective designs. Over the years, I had amassed quite a few of their models in my collection. When taking on the risky endeavor of producing my first throw, The Bowl drew heavy inspiration from the ILYY 2WEI’s signature hub and curved rims. I had initially wanted to work on the Wasabi or Trvth, while the guys wanted to do the DR3I. I’m not sure exactly how compromising and meeting in the middle led us to where we ended up, but I’m glad it worked out! We agreed to collaborate and revamp the most iconic ILYY model of all time and the one which started it all - the E1NS. ![Einstein-New1_1024x1024](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/yoyoexpert1/original/4X/d/5/a/d5ab0f2e076b9ebc0f7fbe4d542dbcca025df712.jpeg) One thing we were instantly in full agreement on was that a titanium version of the E1NS was the best way forward. After a few days of brainstorming, I came up with the name E1NSTiEN. This moniker aptly incorporates the original yo-yo name, its German roots as well as its dramatic backstory. ![Einstein-New2_1024x1024](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/yoyoexpert1/original/4X/9/e/c/9ec2a69fdcf7caa9eba8bc11313c46ff410dd8e2.jpeg) The OG E1NS CAD was used as a starting point. We decided to keep the original diameter (50.0mm) and gap width (4.0mm) but upgrade the innards to a more modern axle and response system of M4 x 12 mm and 19mm respectively. The prototype played amazingly, but we felt it was a tad too heavy at 62.2g. The hub on the prototype was also too prominent and looked dated. The final production model weighs 61.5g and features a lower peak at the hub. What a smol lil baab 😍 I would love to try one, looks like it would have some snappy binds - although the gap looks too narrow for “thick” string, Mini Bowl by RSO had that “issue” as well. ---

i had that issue at first - even though i do like a bit tighter - once the pads broke in, it’s been all aces for me ---

I’m a freak and like my pads worn dowwwwwn, even so I had to use thin airetic strings on the bowl mini - they’re not as fun (for me) to use as standard strings…so I sold it 🥺 ---

Get some monkey snot next time u get a chance. Or get good silicone and let it dry longer. I got the same monkey snot in a firedevil ridgeback i bought sense release… it IS starting to crack. But hadn’t fell out yet and i use it atleast once a day ---

Thanks guys! I enjoy yo-yo related conversions! Appreciate all who bought the E1NSTiEN and you will love it - Dominik @crackout from ILYY has described it as a fitting homage to the OG. In response to @Damb - the gap on the Bowl Mini is actually very sizable at 4.4 mm and on the larger end of the spectrum of yo-yo gaps. I also made the pads slightly recessed in the groove as opposed to being flushed (pads are 1.1-1.15 mm, in a 1.2 mm groove), a design element I’ve applied to all RSO yo-yos. Bowl Mini might be snappy because of other issues like the fresh pads or bearing. I shipped all Bowl Minis with thick string! ---

I had the yoyo for months before I had sold it, not talking smack about the yoyo at all, I loved it. But in the end it was not for me, in my experience, it did not do so well with multiple wraps. It’s a great yoyo though! ---

Played mine this week. Love it. It’s almost like a titanium Hatrick. I’m a nut for titanium and other different types of materials-stainless, magnesium etc. To me titanium feels a bit more alive. So many really good ti throws over the years.
