I played around with a couple small changes to the brake pad profile, we’ll see if they fix things. For the version you’ve got, try the old school tricks. Tiny drop of lube in the bearing, chapstick on the pads or string, the usual enhancements. I’m still working on a die to cut pads out of silicone, nitrile, and a few other rubbers, but after the first cutting die failed the second option ended up being cost prohibitive. I’ll have a chance to cut my own for way less money soon, but I’m waiting on the new W-EDM machine to come in. I could order a few 50Lb boxes from my typical supplier right now if I wanted, but without a specific thing to use it for I feel it’s a bit irresponsible. Bigger question is time efficiency. Orders of small chunks are very useful for tiny prototype runs, but they become very annoying if you’re trying to make a bunch of something and don’t have the right machine to cut them down to machine stock. I’m hoping we get a bandsaw with automatic feed so I can process stock a lot more quickly than I normally do. [I got the PiF post written](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/pif-riforgiate-design-queen-bee/444150) Also, I had to test out a new tool, so if there’s any interest in a different design I was able to pop out [a few RippleDrops](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/pif-riforgiate-design-rippledrop/444153) as well ---

I have to ask… Is the project on a hiatus? Is the second run cancelled? I wonder if anyone has some info regarding the second run. ---

I’ve gotten some quotes for sample quantity finishing for the processes I cannot do in-house (mechanical polishing, electropolishing, hardcoat anodization) and I’ve also rebuilt my blast cabinet and run some finish tests on some older units. The visual results are pretty good, though I managed to introduce some pretty significant vibe to the first few units I blasted. It may end up being the case that I cannot blast super thin walls? More testing is needed. Still not perfect, but much better than my previous results. Still not 100% sure about how I’m gonna manage to mask off the cup so I can get the color differential I’m after… I’ll post a longform video about the anodization process in the near future. Haven’t posted here primarily because I haven’t had much time to really devote to my normal level of detail and I feel bad that I haven’t had what I would consider a good amount of forward progress since I dropped from full time at work. That said, I’m back at work full-time starting tomorrow since the kid will be in daycare 🥳 ---
