# Raw vs. Anodized?

I’ve heard people say raw plays better than anodized. Is this true? If so, I might be getting some yoyos polished…

Nope, they may play slightly differently, but not “better”  
Plus you have to consider that a raw yoyo is less forgiving in case it touches your hand in the middle of a combo

A raw yoyo will more than likely get the bearing seat messed up at some point in it’s existance. Raw aluminum cant stand up to as much force as anodized aluminum. The bearing generally gets stuck to a raw bearing seat and “welds” its self onto it. It gets all scratchy and isnt very pleasing to look at.
