Got mine yesterday. Beautiful presentation but here is where I am asking advice. I love to hand and arm grind. Seems like every time I try, it binds upon contact with my skin. I have slightly resolved this by ripping out one pad and using a thin string, and I can get some grind time, and it won’t snag throughout combos as much. Still not perfect, but playable and less annoying. Seeing if anyone has had similar experience and any tips ---

Replace the bearing. Mine also had that issue, the bearing just doesn’t go to high enough RPM without “spinning out”. You can test this by taking it out and flicking it hard, I bet it will just go “brrr” and stop spinning if you spin it too fast. \*Edit: I guess this must be caused by a balance issue with the bearing, like how car wheels that aren’t balanced cause vibrations at high speeds. I swapped the bearing into a more rim weighted yoyo and it’s fine in that one. ---

Don’t remember having this issue but yeah it’s probably either the bearing or pads ---

Ditto what @tempura said here. This sounds like a bearing issue tbh. I haven’t noticed much snagging / unexpected binding happening with mine. ---

I think it’s just a normal variance thing with bearings that wouldn’t be noticeable on most yoyos that don’t spin as fast. ---
