I received a second Playmaxx Turbo Bumblee yoyo this afternoon! It is in great working condition. However, I would like to perform some maintenance. I have replacement strings and brake pads which are easy. The yoyo did respond using the old string and existing bake pads, which I assume have not been replaced in years. Do you have any advice on how to clean the bearing and brass brackets? Any other general maintenance I should perform? Thanks for your advice everyone! ---

Mineral spirits works great for cleaning bearings. Break pads aren’t being made anymore so you’ll have to look on eBay for some. You might be able to contact a modder to add an spr kit to it. ---

Thanks! I have spare brake pads and will use them. This TBB is one I bought to use and enjoy. My greatest concern is making sure the bearing is up to snuff. ---

This was very helpful! I cleaned the bearing and spacers which made a major difference. I ordered a duncan bearing replacement kit and will do a full swap of the bearing, spacers, string, and brake pads (I have one new pair) when it arrives.
