Ah I see, thanks for the information! I thought most of the recent plastic yoyos like the Shooting Star, Speedaholic XX, Frosted Euclase and the Monarch all had alumiunium bearing posts so I didn’t think that the aluminum bearing post in the Plastic Fulvia was all that big of a selling point.

Both the Speedaholic and the Fulvia are really good.
The Fulvia has more rim weight which makes it more stable than the speedaholic. It will be better for technical tricks. It also has good speed that is comparable to speedaholic
The Speedaholic is very fast but has a greater focus on center weight. I find the speedaholic spins great but tilts more (because of the center weight) making it difficult to complete some tricks. If you like the weight profile of the shutter you may want to get the speedaholic.
There are no comparisons on the forum between the yoyo’s because the Fulvia is a new yoyo. I will be using the Fulvia on my technical tricks because the stability is great on this yoyo.

The big thing to consider is that those other designs with aluminum hubs all have fingerspin hubs which is inherently adding a ton of extra metal to the center of the yoyo.

Both of them are good. The speedaholic feels more center weighted which helps move in speed tricks. The Fulvia is more rim weighted, I find it more controlled and better for the speed combo I use.

Fulvia is smoother, more stable, has more power, tighter binds, and has a more premium feel.
Speedaholic plays faster and is a bit better at horizontal.

One thing I hate about this yoyo is the fact that I can’t pick the color because they are all so bad.
I want fun colors on my toys. I’ll probably still grab a grey if I can in the new year and paint some awful nonsense on it.

Now there’s an interesting prospect. I have dyed clear turned polycarbonate in a KnickKnack. Purple turned it to a great grape jolly rancher color. I’d want to make sure the heat required wouldn’t ruin the bearing seat setting though.
@jeffreypang911 without making any guarantees (which I understand fully) any thoughts on how a plastic Fulvia would take a dye like dyemore or iDye poly?

I didn’t know heat was required. I follow someone on instagram that seems to just use Rit dye. I know it’s not permanent on clothes, but maybe since a yoyo doesn’t get washed, it would hold ok.

I have dyed two firearm lower frames with Rit dye. One was grey I turned black and the other was yellow I dyed navy. I followed the mixing chart that Rit has online, heated the mixture up to 150° Fahrenheit, shut off the heat and let them sit in it for an hour. I then rinsed well in water, never came off in my hands and held up great.

idye poly should work well! I use the hot water method (not the acetone) method in the past with success! You can also mask designs with Elmer’s glue.
I think if you want a more toy like experience/colors I would recommend other brands like Yoyofactory or Duncan. I cover this in my blog post - there are tons of other awesome companies making bright colored plastic yo-yos which is why I went a different direction. I have a few projects that are not Luftverk related that will likely be a bit brighter in 2023!
Thank you everyone who has got one… it’s insane how quick these have sold - nearly all 3000 of them are gone to stores/customers already!!
