# OVERrated yoyos

ok there are some yoyos that do seem to get more credit over othe rsuch as dm2 and the the new breed get absolutely no attention i have a new breed it plays great, id prefer it over my friends dm2. but the dm2 probley plays as good but its hyped too much making it seem like a such an extravagant yoyo… and whoever said yuuksta was overrated “how” its 65 bucks for a yoyo thats is of quality of a genesis and super g, its so plays for its price, and i usually dont hear people loath over them…

I would have to agree, I love my g5, its my only throw that’s made it through all my phases, (except my 54 of course) its a really UNDERRATED throw imo. True its not all that fast but its as stable as they come. A good learning throw.

Nono, you’re right. G5 is underrated, at least in the YYF lineup. Compared to many things though, YYF is overrated.

The man behind the DM2 is awesome, he make the DM2 awesome.
Do you know how many title the DM have under its belt?
If someone like a yoyo that you don’t, that doesn’t make it overrated.
I hardly see overrated yoyo these day, but tons of underrated…
Maybe someone can redefine overrated?

I agree with that too, after I gained some experience and started branching out to other Yoyo companies I realized there’s more to the throw world then YYF. Haha

overrated is just something that doesn’t live up to the hype that everyone gives it. Like a lot of yyf yoyos get an incredible amount of hype, when they’re not really anything special. More of a throw of the week.
Whereas some things like imho the noctu, is incredibly underrated. I got one and it plays like a dream, yet no one ever really talks about it.
Edit: Also, a lot of werrd yoyos are overlooked. After getting a pacquiao, I just love them. gonna try to get my hands on a split d and 4xl when they drop here.

It seems that everyone dislikes the genisis and the northstar but i’ve only used the northstar. and YYF makes excellent yoyos and are my current #1 brand until i find something better (which i haven’t) and for those CLYW and other company ppl good luck with those throws . i think CLYW might be a good company but too expensive for my taste :-X

I think CLYW is pretty overrated, especially the peak. That thing is nice to use and all, but it really isn’t all that great

Dark Magic. Used to have it. I was actually half glad when someone stole it. In my opinion, it was way too light, and my protostar plays better for 10 bucks less. A lot better.

How heavy do you want a yoyo to be? the original was 70 grams

Primo, had it for two days and the axle and the place where the axle threaded into broke…just broke. Yuuksta, so unstable and not even near the spin time of the genesis…that yoyo got scammed from me.

Maybe you crosthreaded it.
Every yoyo would be overrated if you put it that way.

No, the primo has known to have had these problems. that’s why no one wants one.

Ok. But then if you decide you do in fact like hubstacks you end up spending $100 on a metal that has them. If you didn’t buy the POS in the first place you would have a good $30 towards that.
And if you don’t like hubstacks you’re out $30 cause no one wants to trade for a PGM.
Overrated.

Just because you didn’t enjoy them doesn’t mean they are overrated. There’s a difference.
You could have contacted YYF and had the Primo easily replaced. It’s a great throw and highly UNDERRATED.
A lot of people have been saying the Yuuksta is unstable. That is a direct reflection on your skills. I personally thought it was an extremely fun yoyo and had no issues with stability. It’s built for speed and even when I pushed it as fast as it could go I never had unwanted tilt.
