# OVERrated yoyos

The genesis is not the best 1a, but it rocks 5a all day for sure, i love both of my geneses, but as for overrated I would have to say the psg, there too light and the responce that comes with them sucks horribly.

The Genesis is my favorite 1A throw… I think its just the bee’s knees… I do agree that the PSG does have crap response… But with a fresh set of silicone you have a great throw…

Dang. Everyone says its great, but I disliked mine. It was thin, not long spinning, and unstable.

Well i the thing is about that is that some yoyoea just buff things out and you can never really see the dings like with my recrev no.9 for example but others ding easily like my Dv888 🙂

I have to ask, but how in the world is the DANG considered thin? Seriously. Not long spinning I can agree due to the weight.

It never even recieved hype or noticable word. Not sure how you can say its not even a good throw. Its not meant to be a competition throw, its a basic no frills type of yoyo.

On other forums - it was hailed as the greatest little throw that the world has ever seen. How many “special editions” of it did we get? There were plenty of fanboys singing its praises.
My comment was not about its competition ability. But, for a low-priced metal throw, there are many out there that are a better value.

I agree. It’s hard to respect a throw when it is released 500 different times per year with slightly different colorways. (and usually steeper price tags…)

Uh… Since when? I don’t see people selling YYF for twice the price on the BST. In fact, YYF has some of the lowest resell values out there. When people ask for the “smoothest” or the “best”, people mention CLYW, OD, YYR, etc…
I don’t see people suggesting YYF over ANY OTHER BRAND. It’s rare to see that people say Superstar \> code 1, etc. Just because YYF know’s how to get their products out there, and promotes them a lot, does not mean they are overrated.

just curious.. how does having a huge variety of colourways, and constant availability make a throw not respectable? and as far as price, it’s been 85 for as long as I can remember…
would you respect it more if it were only available in red and like 5 of them came out every 10 years?
also, what does respect have to do with being overrated?

I second what dynikus said. Also, if you were a Yo-Yo Manufacturing Company, would you make 20 Yo-Yo’s total, if you know you could sell 500? Would you make 20 so only 20 people can enjoy your Yo-Yo’s, or would you make 500 so 500 people could enjoy your Yo-Yo’s? Don’t be a hypocrite. Also, before anyone says I’m a YYF fanboy, At the moment, I only own one supernova that is semi-beat.
