Hey everyone, Our family started our yo-yo adventure back in December. We each have been throwing an offset Xenon for a bit. My boys picked up a strand last month and have been loving it. I was just curious what everyone thoughts of the DNA and the god speed are? Also is there a yo-yo that compares to the DNA that is sold by yo-yo expert? I had ordered the dna and some dna strings 10 days ago and it finally arrived today without the dna yo-yo in the package. So I asked for a refund and now don’t want to waste time again so I’m just going to stick to ordering from yo-yo expert. Thanks. ---

There’s plenty of great fingerspin yo-yos besides the DNA nowadays. A good option is the speedaholic xx by C3yoyodesign. The new version of it is quite easy to finger spin on and is plenty capable of handling just about any style of tricks. ---

Theyre not good. But for casual throwing they should be okay I think. ---

Fingerspin yo-yos are honestly fine. If people are excited to play it, awesome. Hakuna matata. They will not hold you back from landing a trick. They can perform great. The only reason (in my opinion) they can hold someone back is if their go to is to only do finger spins. I see a lot of kids in the club I help out at do this. Having a different yoyo in this case can help someone break out of the repetitive cycle and try new things and find new tricks to do. ---

C3 Speedaholic XX and Shooting Star from iYoyo are solid finger spin-capable throws that also excel in other things outside of just doing DNA/tornados. I own both and love them, buttery smooth! Never tried DNA string yet and honestly I don’t feel compelled to buy any, a bit too gimmicky for my tastes, money can go elsewhere. If I really want to try a non tensioning “DNA string” I could just buy some small barrel swivels from the fishing dept and make my own. But I most often do this on my responsives and will do a sidewinder to undo what I just did to the string. ---

Can second the Shooting Star, it’s surprisingly good! Speedaholic isn’t bad either, and I know they are incredibly similar, but something about the finish and grind feel with the Shooting Star I just tend to prefer more. ---

What you actually want is the Plastic Cheatcode. Undersized, fast, and wrong about its own price in a way that benefits you. It outperforms things that should beat it. No one had mentioned it yet. They should have. There is also the Magicyoyo V13. I do not recommend Magicyoyo as a rule. Their branding is a crime with no victim I can report it to. The V13 does not care about any of that. It plays correctly. It costs incorrectly. Both of these things are true at the same time. ---
