i’ve never has course nor thin nylon but loosing tension is a solid and very real issue with nylon. slippy is often the term used but honestly a good blend or very tight nylon can combat that issue. ---

There’s so much variance in types of nylon and polyester. It honestly feels a little weird that we just reduce these materials to just single words, with no specifications of brand/type/source/etc. I just use generic bulk poly and don’t think about it beyond “it works” so it’s not like I particularly care or am invested in this, but I’m just a little surprised that it seems like there’s so little visible discussion of this type of stuff from people who make strings. Because I know this matters, I know some of the bigger string makers stop making certain strings entirely when they run out of a specific type of thread, because they can’t find a replacement that has the same qualities they wanted. But why they wanted that thread, what specific type of nylon/poly it was, that’s just kinda hidden information that I wish was shared more often. Communal knowledge for this type of stuff goes a long way, especially as string makers get in and out of yoyo so often. Selling yoyo strings and being concerned with making a profit by having your own secret recipe just kinda seems lame to me. Would prefer to have this knowledge available to benefit the future yoyo community and string makers. ---

I dont remember which brand it was (can it be something from a Yyr member?) but I remember it was extremely thin, super fast (very fast) and very coarse, not pleasant at all, I can recollect the advantage of it but didnt like the feeling. In other hand, Zipline - Skyline III are so good, soft and work great, wish just it was less slippy and thick and easier to break in, I remember very short string that it became high as me after couple of throws :joy: But also I am quite a sucker for Zipline stuff, I love them very much ---
