So I just deshielded a Dif-e-Yo konkave that I pulled out of a duncan roadrunner I had lying around and it’s a 10 ball, ball bearing. I was thinking it was gunna be an 8. Does Dif-e-Yo konkaves all come with 10 balls or do they have both 8 and 10? Curious :thinking:

All Dif-e-Yo KonKave bearings are 8 ball.
The “concave” shaped bearing/s in the DUNCAN yoyo’s are DUNCAN concave bearings.
DUNCAN is Licensed by Dif-e-Yo to make their own concave shaped bearing and they are 10 ball.
There are other yoyo’s with other concave bearings and they pay a Royalty fee to use then in their yoyo’s
To answer another Question by Shwa there are 2 different type cages that hold the balls in a bearing.
One is known as a Basket cage that looks like fingers with the balls between each finger, and you can see the balls on one side and they’re covered on the other side.
The other type of cage is known as a Ribbon cage where you can’t see the balls on both sides because the 2 halves of the cage hold the balls in place on both sides.
Both cages do the job, and spin fine, but as the cages wear after long use, the Ribbon cage is less prone to fall apart since the ball are held on both sides.

Quick question i recently bought the nsk koncave and nsk center trac and nak DS bearing, however i would def not call them quiet. They def make boise, now it’s not too loud but yet its not as quiet as i have heard other claim it is. Any suggestions on what you did to mske em wuiet like that? I would hate to resort to lube because i dislike how every lubed bearing loses spin time, sometimes dramatically

All my NSK/DS/Dif-e-Yo have gone quiet after playing for a bit. Noise may come back and then disappears again
