NMTBS means that the yoyo someone is selling is near mint to be seen, Scales is an online yoyo contest held yearly ---

Near mint to be safe. The seller is essentially saying that they do not see any damage, but the yoyo has been played/ removed from the packaging. They are “being safe” by not saying the yoyo is in true mint condition ---
