Hi everyone,
I recently started a Youtube channel to make trick tutorials on elements/combos that I haven’t seen tutorials for elsewhere. With Takeshi’s recent iconic freestyle at AP 2026, had to learn and breakdown this new combo of his.

I’m not too sure if my string positioning is wrong but when I try and throw the string over my TH while swinging the yoyo for the pseudo string injection, it snags and binds almost instantly.
Any tips?

Hmm it’s hard to say without seeing a video. At 0:38 in the video, I show a simplified version of that step where I pinch with my TH pinky and ring to hold the slack in place, and push the string into the gap once, and then roll onto the back string to form the mount, are you able to do this without it snagging? If so, I think it probably means when you do the full motion, you gotta let go of your NTH index string sooner in the motion as you pop the yoyo up, and you can try to push your TH down as you do this too so the string flies toward your NTH side with more force, so it can wrap around the gap an extra time to form the right mount. You could also try thinner string/different pads since it can be a bit snaggy depending on your yoyo’s gap width
