My old 100 pack of Yoyoexpert 100% green polyester string ran out a few weeks ago. In Aug 2024, I bought a new 100 pack (same brand and same material same color same amount; yoyoexpert 100% green polyester 100 count) and my problem with these new strings is that they’re too thick for my loop 720s 😩😭. They’re so thick to the point of making the loop 720 come straight back up with no sleeping. I’m just really torn up about this because this just puts a halt on my 2a entirely. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible to have someone working at yoyoexpert to test the string on a 720 before I order another 100 pack? I don’t want to use another string brand because I’ve already dialed in my perfect 2a settings and the yoyoexpert strings are the only strings that work for me (the yoyo, the lubes, cleaning the bearings, string length, etc). ---

yes, and unfortunately that didn’t work. they usually work straight out the box with no issues. ---

Sounds like they just changed their blend or vendor. Maybe email YYE to ask your question? Or ping @AndreBoulay or @YoYoExpertEric here (there, I just did it). I understand you not wanting to mess with your setup. FWIW I have been very happy with OTS Thin on my 720s, and have also liked Kitty Normal. ---

Yeah @shimm7 - we can test some out… That’s interesting. Can I ask what spacers you are using in the 720? (What color are they?) Any lube in bearing? Will try to recreate and can send you some sampleß first maybe to see. ---

im using the red spacers for both sides. right now the bearing is lubed up with thick lube and it’s at a good response-to-sleep ratio (fast responsive loops that stay in front of me, and 25 around the worlds no problem). i usually just use thick lube most of the time; if it gets to the point of tight responsive loops but not a lot of sleep, i put a little pindrop of thin lube in the bearing directly. thank you both for the help Keith and André ---

@shimm7 - Apologize for the delayed response! - I did investigate further and you are correct. I even tried it on my current Loop 720 set up which is with the purple/red spacers. I put the current 100% polyester Green on and it was indeed a little thicker.
