Can you mute a user that you don’t want to see posts from? Mute/hide/ignore
@twitch77 keeps correcting my spelling and I don’t like green.

You can. Go to their profile and press regular,then press mute!

From what I understand it prevents notifications - but I’m not sure it hides their posts, etc.

i don’t think “muting” a user is a good thing. However unpopular a viewpoint is, it still deserves the right to be herd, yes and the missing “a” in herd is deliberate, because we don’t have to follow the viewpoint.

Ignore is a step beyond and on top of what mute does. The text explains it:
Note that you must be TL1 to have the mute ability, and you must be TL2 to have the ignore ability.

Do I need to private message the user to let them know I’ve ignored them or will the ignore button do that for me also?

Me thinks ignoring someone would suggest that I ignore them, not tell them I was going to ignore them because they might ignore me, which might remove the satisfaction of ignoring them first. That would be hard to ignore. If you choose to ignore me, just do it, I don’t want to know. 😁 No reply needed, I’ll just ignore it! lol
