This thing is my kind of organic. I’ve just come to realize that I like the organic shape but rarely the organic play. I did find the Oasis to be rather enjoyable as I’m always hoping for something that skirts the line between comfort and performance and the Oasis seemed to do this very well… but we are not here to talk about that. I really really love the Perpendicular. Sure some others are more round on the corners but that’s no detractor here. The shape is very organic and comfortable yet very sporty and sleek at the same time. It’s very beautiful to look at. The play of the brass rimmed version is very very premium not only in feel (the materials and finish are so top notch), but in smoothness and responsiveness as well. It’s got a nice heft in play that always tells you precisely where it is yet it responds to every change you throw at it with the handling of a high end sports car. Not quite race car and not quite motorcycle but more than enough performance to please most. It’s very stable and keeps spinning well through the paltry level of tricks that I know. My opinion in these matters is based on a limited exposure to the vast number of options in the yo-yo market but I know the magic when I feel it. The magic that I like at least, and the Perpendicular has that magic in spades. If you’re a person who just loves the vibe of the old school organics then I’m not sure if this will fit that bill… But maybe it will, I just haven’t tried one so far that I really loved. But if you’re looking for a super comfy and very high performance throw with the organic curves of a brand new Turbo Vette… then this may be your jam. This one is a real gem!! Did I mention that I LOVE the Perpendicular??

Just got my b grade in the mail, and I gotta say, this things is really nice to play around with. The organic shape feels quite nice in the hand and the feel during play is extraordinarily good. The undersized diameter makes it really easily stuffed while taking it around. I may have to pick up a brass one because of how much I like this stainless steel one

I’ve had the same thing happen with some really essential non-yoyo items before.
My great uncle was a postmaster, and he said that pre-COVID, there were stringent background checks, tests, and other requirements that had to be met before you could work for the post office (as there should be, given the potential importance of other’s items that you are handling). Now, they hire just about any warm body that will bother to show up at work. It’s sad to see how fast things have declined. I really hope this turns around, and that American exceptionalism makes a comeback.

Really neat collaborative we did with our friends over at Snarkle Rocks - a 5A counterweight made for our sponsored player Scooby Drew. Did a super small run just to gather how much interest there would be.
