Nice job… for a sec i thought that was justin behind the yoyo :wink:. Love the set up. What string do u use? Does it pop so much causee of the black background? Id show the video of my miss but i rather not show u up onmy mistakes😉. Slow and whip when the yoyo drops &stops. I still have trouble with the catch but i can feel it coming. T thanks ---

I use OT strings (normal thickness) Strings pop partially because black background, mainly because black light. ---

Yo! Quick update on the tricks on my side. I definitely still got some work to do on Follow, but for the moment I’m happy with it. It’s actually a really fun trick, the hardest part for me atm is to get a good grip of the string on the last whip to land it properly in the yoyo. Dude i think you don’t understand the term “i suck”… at no point in either video did u suck at anything. That was Da Bomb! CHERRY Bomb! Yes i thought your video was so good i made a totally random old school yoyo reference. As for my progress… jade whip makes for some gorgeous looking failures…i either land in a GT (figure out which side to hop out is a pain)…or i land it correctly (when the video isn’t running) either landing is still only 50%. I think my biggest problem right now is getting the yoyo to sit in the correct string long enough t9 catch the tension. ---

Haha thanks a lot guys ! But those are the very best takes I got on video. I do especially need to improve my precision and rhythm on the speed combo… Sometimes I’ll be starting my combo from a Breakaway and 4 seconds later I am desperately trying to finish the combo in Frontstyle because of all the shifting :joy: > [@AKYOYOMIKE](#): > > either landing is still only 50%. For me what really helped in terms of aiming (after training to bring yoyo to full stop until it drops straight down) was to really grab the string fully with my hand, like you’d hold a tennis racket, and aim the yoyo’s gap with my thumb and index while whipping. Also maybe try different whip speeds to see which one suits you. I like to do it aggressively, to mitigate string tension a little. (For example, I tried to do it slower like in @MoonageMin’s last video and I found it super difficult) ---

I’m not the only one struggling still! lol :+1: I too keep landing it wrong (not a GT so much, but with the loop on the right side instead of the left)…I am getting more consistent each day…but even still my consistency is pretty low. lol it looks SO easy in the videos!! 😛 ---

I should start uploading more videos again. I’ve gained weight in the past 2 months /sigh…so that’s partly holding me back. I’ve also taken a pretty big step back from throwing last month and am still trying to jump in fully again. Oh…and my sleep! Man it’s been bad this past couple of months. I’ve struggled with insomnia for most my life and it’s really flared up pretty bad…but I met with my doc recently and she’s real hopeful that a med she increased for me will help me out. Man I’d love to feel rested for once! Dragging kills my motivation levels! (Doesn’t help that I’ve been pretty cooped up in my apartment these past couple of months either). lol was this post too personal? I’m all like: “Dear Diary… … …” \*\>.\< ---

I find it really cool to look back on my old videos of landing tricks…it gives me pride knowing that I actually pulled that off! haha now if only I could become consistent! Sometimes I’ll stand in front of a dang camera for an hour or more before I finally land a trick decently enough. There’s other tricks (like Jack’s Slack into Mexican Duck Pond) I’ve only been able to do once or twice (but am super glad I got some of them on camera!). ---

Remember it’s a hobby and toys before all 😃, no need to exert unneeded pressure on yourself about it. Video or not video, it doesn’t really matter as long as we share our tricks progress/failures/struggles with everyone in my opinion. I haven’t been here long but I find this community really grounded and supportive (at least the threads where people are not shouting at each other over flat bearings lol) 🙂 ---
