I don’t have yoyo clubs around me unfortunately, I live in the middle of nowhere. The online community is a real blessing, as I am able to communicate with people on my hobby of choice. I made friends with @SammyCaboose on here about a year ago, maybe more, maybe less, through @OhDavidBowie (we think, can’t really remember) Sammy and I also are into audio gear, and have kept up with one another on the regular, just talking life in general. I kinda sucked at keeping up with @OhDavidBowie , but I wanna say I love that dude too As fate would have it, I had to travel about 8 hours to a town I’d never been to, I tell Sammy and he is like “dude, I live there.” So we just met up, and the guy couldn’t be cooler. My wife was like “what if he is a serial killer?” Good news everyone, he is not a serial killer, lol I brought yoyos and headphones and he did too. He has some wicked titanium throws. He also had the best portable audio gear I have ever listened too. Just yoyoing with someone in person was a surreal experience, and tack on meeting a pen pal and it really was a great day. Long story short, make friends in the yoyo community and if you can find a way to meet up, definitely try (don’t blame me if they are a serial killer) I will most definitely be making efforts to attend Worlds sometime when it’s in Ohio. it’s always so fun to meet up with people you primarily interact with online, it’s why I love yo-yo contests so so much. btw I spy a hart audio modular cable and some nice looking cans i can’t seem to place though the connectors look kind of like the DCA push-pull-style ones; the yoke and headband also look like dan clark 👀 what are they? ok i did some googling they look like they could be a pair of DCA (neé MrSpeakers) Ether C Flows. cool to see yo-yoing and headphones mix, I’ve got a pair of Aurorus Borealis sitting on my head rn 🙂 ---

I remember Sammy saying the cans were some kind of Mr Speakers. He turned me on to jazz.mysic with them, not a genre I listen to. After I listened, I told him “if I had cans like that, all I would listen to would be jazz” He had a absolutely awesome pair of IEMs from Sony that had an absurdly clean bass impact. I was listening to old Memphis rap from my youth and just cheesing at the rumble, reminded me of my old system in my car. ---

It was a surreal experience. Was nice to finally put a face to the name and have something beyond words on a screen. Honestly a great highlight to my year and I can say we will remain friends for a long time to come. ---

how fun!! that sounds like the best time ever lol. yoyos and good audio do go hand in hand. had a similar experience when I finally got to meet a friend that I had been raiding with in WoW for years. was the best time.
