The design builds directly on the Da Vinci’s unique V-shaped profile with a touch of H for stability, now stretched wider to open up the catch zone. To amplify power, yoyofriends developed a new generation of stainless steel rim design—an extreme, wrapped vertical placement that pushes nearly 20 grams of mass to the very edge of the yo-yo. Tomoki himself named the yo-yo after Francesco [Melzi](https://shop.yoyoexpert.com/collections/new-releases/products/melzi), a pupil of Leonardo Da Vinci, symbolizing its lineage as a perfected successor.
