I just got one of the gen-yo AIGR bearings and when I got it, it had a light lube in it, so I cleaned it. For like 10 min it was playing smooth/unresponsive, then it got fairly responsive again. Do I just need to break in my bearing more?

Very much probably.

Even Terrapin X Bearings, which claim to not need a break-in, while they play fantastic right out of the little plastic baggie, but the more you play it, the better it plays. So, their break-in period is, well, I don’t know how to say it, but more graceful? Seems right.

Really, any new bearing needs to be broken in, regardless of what make or model.
