Black Canon has low walls and a stepped gap, looks like it would be more for unresponsive play. Deeper State has much higher walls and is geared for responsive play, like the Deep State. So no need to choose between the two - Get both! ---

Yeah looking at the photos I assumed the Black Canon was for unresponsive play. Then read in the instagram description that it “Functions well as a trainer and casual jammer in both responsive and unresponsive setups” which I thought is what the Deep State can also do. I presume the Deeper State will continue to do as well. I do like the higher walls on the Deep/Deeper State though. I might end up getting both in the end 🤦‍♂️ ---

Literally (1) gram in any yoyo design can change the play drastically. Def know that Deeper State and Black Canon play largely different. And yes both can take diff bearing setups for either responsive or unresponsive play. Black Canon more suitable for full unresponsive play based on the little gap ‘nubby nub’. Deeper State better for response based on the high walls. Looks like it would Shoot the Moon like a champ as well. ---

Yeah I haven’t seen the specs of either one yet…just mainly going off the photos of each. I certainly agree that even 1 gram can make yoyos play differently. Both you and @YoYoExpertGarrett are pointing out the same details (step/nubby nub) making the Black Canon better for unresponsive whereas the Deeper State is better for responsive. That was my first thought as well; then I saw the instagram mentioning the BC could also do responsive so I figured I’d ask, that’s all.
