I’ve been hitting Magic Drop on the back string a lot more frequently lately and I’m pretty stoked about it. I know there are lots of posts about how to do it, but I found a couple things that really helped me after struggling for what seems like months and thought I would share for anyone else struggling.

Slow it down! I was getting faster at rail combos so I would always try to whip the string around and it would never reject for me. Once I slowed it down and paid attention to the exact hand and muscle memory, it started to click.

The other thing is a tip from YoTricks: Right as the yoyo is coming around your throwhand, point your non-throw index finger down. Aim for a couple feet in front of your foot like you’re showing someone something on the ground.

These two tips have helped a lot lately. I can finally get all the way through Kamikaze without having to stop and reset at the Magic Drop section.

Woo!
