For that price, the Alpha Crash seems like a nice Protostar substitute.

YYJ Classic is good fun for less than $20. Also, YYF OneStar.

I would recommend the onestar (if you are able to bind/like advanced play/want to learn to bind), or the classic for responsive play that can be quickly and easily upgraded to unresponsive.
