What’s the finish feel like? More like a blasted throw or more like Pyramatte? Do you have other Cerakotes you could compare the feel too?

Yes!! Actually I’ve been dying to talk about this with some one lol. Yes I’ve had 4-5 cerakote yo-yos so I can compare very well, and let me tell u how surprised I was by the feel of the finish on these relics! The normal cerakote finish can vary a little depending on the color I think, some are more matte feeling then others and some are a little more glossy/smooth. But they ALL to me so far have a very thick ceramic type coating feel. To me at least. And idk about anyone else but I am definitely more hesitant to play with my cerakote yo-yos because of that ceramic feeling. I’m worried that it will easily chip off if dinged. Idk how I thought these relics were gna feel but I was amazed and pleasantly surprised when they felt like way more of a blasted finish .you can barely feel the cerakote at all. But it does feel like a good mix of the two in the best way. It’s ultra smooth, at least mine is. But the biggest takeaway is that I feel super comfortable playing this Yoyo without that same hesitancy described above. It doesn’t have that fragile feel of my other cerakote yo-yos, if that makes any senses

I could see how the buffing/sanding or whatever they are doing to get the Relic finish would have a more blasted feel. I hadn’t considered how little dings would just blend into the finish too. Very cool.

The faux patina just isn’t working for me. I do like the way the Cerakote finishes look and feel, though they do seem more fragile than standard anodizing.
I know nothing about Cerakote, but given that OD has tried various iterations of 2-tones and now patina, I wonder what could be next. Is mixing colors on the same half of a yoyo possible? Not a splash necessarily… Maybe some sort of a gradient?

I hate to say it because they do look good but earn it. I’m the same way about everything from blue jeans to firearms. If you want that cool worn in look then get to work. And I don’t mean with steel wool and a drill.

I totally get what you’re saying, but I feel like these aren’t exactly like a distressed finish. What drives me crazy are the relic or road worn guitars! Can you say poser?

Counterpoint: they look worn, but the surface is smooth so you don’t get the downside of a scratchy string and finger cutting surface if you actually dinged it up. But for sure, it’s not for everyone. I will say they are cooler in person and tough to convey in photos because I think the smoothness of the surface changes your perception of it.

Looking for some advice/opinions.
I recently got a new Still Rollin’ in the UV orange.
It has red ano underneath that’s clear in some spots. When it’s spinning, it has some vibe against my finger, but it feels smooth on the string. I’ve swapped side effects and tried tuning, with it feeling the same.
I have others with cerakote (Dioramas) that have clear bearing seats and spin smooth against my finger.
Anyone else had a similar experience or have any thoughts?

You could try lubing the side effect gasket ring and crank it down tight. Also try swapping the bearing. Interesting that the anno has clear in it like that.

A Lilith wizard will only go up in value. And u should never have a problem getting AT LEAST ur money back if u wanted to sell. But only 30 units were made and I don’t think they do reruns on Lilith so it’s gna be 30, that’s it. A Lilith reboot which is relatively still newish just sold for around $200 recently.
