# Learning horizontal play

As a new player just starting out, I was wondering what you would recommend for learning finger spins? Also any tips on horizontal play in general would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Plenty of equipment available and videos. If you are stuck come hang out with us at the YoYoFactory in Chandler and we can work on your skills together.

■■■■■■■■■■ had a good video on starting horizontal. The TLDR is that you can start with shorter string and try on a responsive first so you don’t have to worry about binding until you are comfortable with the initial mount.

Thank you for the responses. Would there be a specific yoyo you recommend for fingerspins or just any of the many varieties I know are available?

I recommend a Skyva or Metal Skyva for fingerspins.:wink:
