# Kendama vocabulary

HI,
I wanted to give some kendama vocabulary so…
Section 1(intro)
To play with a kendama, one holds the toy, and pulls the ball upward so that it may either be caught in one of the cups or land with the hole on the spike. More advanced tricks include sequential balances, juggles, and catches. Many tricks involving the kendama have yet to be discovered. There are eleven prescribed moves on the kendama trick list.
Section 2(parts of a kendama)
the ball is the tama
the handle is the ken
the big cup is the ozora
the small cup is the kozara
the base cup is the chuzara
the spike is the kensaki
Crosspiece is the sarado
Slip stop is the suberidome
Cup edge is the ■■■■■
the string is the ito
the bead is the futome no biizu
Section 3(tricks)
there are many tricks. Some are:
around the block
around the world
frying pan
slip on spike
earth spin
around Indonesia
around japan
around u.s.a
around germany
bird
lighthouse
airplane
spike
gravity
lunar
barrel
solar
These are some of the tricks out there.

You might want to add:
Crosspiece - sarado
String - ito
Bead - futome no biizu
Slip stop - suberidome
Cup edge - ■■■■■
Oh, and it’s called ‘frying pan’ instead of ‘flying pan’. Reference is made akin to gripping an actual frying pan, hence the name.

Since this is already here and I don’t feel like typing everything all over again, what about the slang terms that everyone says? Such as lace and jammers and dubs and other terms that are helpful for describing tricks etc.

I’ll try to do something about that. Idk though because there are no official terms for parts of tricks. If you DM them to me, I can easily add them in
