Getting laid off was one of the most cruising things I experienced. Thankfully, I was able to find something that fit me much better afterward. Good luck, you got this!

Oh man, Sorry to hear this.
I can’t directly relate…But, I know a few people who have been laid off and landed back on their feet with a new job/career and a new spark of joy/creativity in their lives.

The first thing you should do today is to take all of the money you have saved, and spend it all on lottery tickets. You might end up never having to work again!

I got laid off once.
It sucked at the moment it happened but it turned out to be the greatest thing to ever happen to me.
Made me realize my worth and value and I refused to settle for anything that didn’t see in me what I saw in me.
Now I have an amazing job that pays extremely well and I’m loaded down with certifications and qualifications that makes it almost impossible for me to be laid off but if I do get laid off, I can walk across the street and have a job immediately.

I’ve been laid off twice. Once when I was like 24. It was scary, but I ended up getting a job pretty quickly. The second time I was like 29 or 30. Still scary, but you just start putting out resumes and seeing what hits. Eventually something did, and I’m still there now.

Not sure if it’s the best advice since it’s questionable if it’s working out for me, but I lost my job of 20+ years about 2 years ago. After that I decided to try and start my own business. My thought going into it was you don’t get to many chances to restart everything and chance a dream. Mentally it’s been super challenging partly because it wasn’t all my companies fault and the struggle is always ongoing with my business so I find myself yoyoing more for the mental relief so much so that my spouse will send me off to yoyo if I’m bugging out to much. Good luck on wherever your journey takes you and we’re here to help.

All, I just wanted to update the thread and say a few things.
1. Thanks for everyone who was supportive. I know we’re all miles away, but yall really reminded me how many friends I have.
Some of you even tried to find me a job, asking for a resume, sending me links - just thank you all so much for that.
1. Praise God I just got the call and got a great offer at what seems to be a great company!!!
Thank you all for the support and kind words - now it’s time for me to buy a yo-yo!!
