# Just bought a Throw Monkey, any mods I can do?

So I found a throw monkey for $6 at a sporting goods, and I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve been wanting to give 5a a shot, but all of my throws were bought with 1a in mind, so the gaps hurt when I catch it 5a style.

So I know you can carve a silicone groove in these since I’ve been interested in modding a fhz. I saw a user put brass weight rings on theirs, but I don’t have the tools for that. Imo, the throw is super vibes and fairly short spinning stock, so I was looking for a way to increase rim weight.
