# IX by c3yoyodesign

Has anyone played it? Any opinions? I’ve been fascinated by it.

I have one. Mine is dead smooth. For 1A it feels very strange but plays nice. Eli hop, whips, and things are super easy, but more complex string tricks are very difficult. It grinds awesome and even though it doesn’t have and fingerspin cup, it fingerspins pretty well due to its width.

For 4A, it seem fine. It’s still a good bit wider than my T1 captain. I have only tried once or twice due to its price tag lol.

For 5A, it is kind of awkward to throw with a counterweight. That’s just something that you have to get used to. It makes the beginner tricks pretty easy. It’s pretty much impossible to miss bee stings. I use it with a porykon Bearing counterweight and it feels pretty great. It feels a lot lighter than the weight would indicate.

Overall I would only recommend this yoyo, if you were interested in 5A. It’s fun to use it for other styles, but I would get something else if you don’t have a good 1A or 4A yoyo yet.
