Quite personally, I’d hate to disagree with you.
But I do. With Smaller lighter yoyos, smaller bearings add more stability.
If it was more on the 67 and over side.
Id probably advise against it.

I love me some mid to oversize light yoyos.
I Want to make one With a D Bearing.
Hopefully it doesn’t end up rubbish haha!

You might want to consider the Square Wheels Rex when it finally releases. First Square Wheels changed my views on H-shapes and now they have changed my opinion on small bearing yoyos. The Rex has a D bearing that plays like a C but with more spin, power and you can bind with less effort. No snags, not grabby, just fantastic play.

Exactly my point!
And they’re amazing.
I simply adore the Royale!
I’ve been waiting on the Rex 🙂

Can’t use snow tires with a d bearing.

Actually, it is possible.
Snow tires are smaller than friction stickers,
yet Duncan uses them for A bearings.
You just gotta have a bit of a wall to put the slightly thicker pad 🙂

I don’t think it would be a good idea unless CLYW comes up with D-sized snow tires, which is unlikely.

Just go with a silicone-friendly response recess. See about using the D-Pads Square Wheels uses in their REX

I Think Hat pads would be my go to if i were to design a D bearing yoyo.
Or just make a Silicone groove

I know it’s just a sketch, but in the dimensions of the sketch, there’s no way the width is 48 if the diameter is 52. That’s an ultra-wide yoyo in the sketch.
