# Is my bearing supposed to make this noise

It varies a lot per bearing… but if you want a bearing as quiet as possible, _don’t_ run it totally dry… try [adding a little bit of thin lube](https://forums.yoyoexpert.com/t/why-you-yes-you-should-lube-your-yo-yo-bearing/291865) and then spinning out any excess with compressed air.

Some bearings are naturally louder than others though, there’s quite a bit of variance out there.
