# If i clean a bearing without lubing it?

What would happen if i didnt lube a bearing after cleaning it

It would be loud and slowly grind itself away. To be safe you should lube it, all it needs is a small drop or two.

Apparently nothing… Its been said that not lubing the bearing and it locking up is a myth…

The bearing will be completely unresponsive, loud, and slowly kill itself. I play all of my bearings like this. It isn’t needed, it does shorten the life of a bearing, but it’s not like your bearing will be shot in a month, it will take a looong time.

Happens to me in a month.
