# Ideas on best beginner thumb grind throw

Get into a trapeze, then put your thumb on the inside cup of the yoyo, then drop the string off your non throw hand pointer finger. Easy thumb grind :+1:t3:

I would advise not getting a yoyo solely for thumb grinds… There’s only so much one can do with thumb grinds, and spending around 50$ for it seems a waste for me.

Yoyo factory Space cadet is a great throw and super tight for thumb grinds. I make them almost every time with that one.
