This post will just be a quick conversation about yoyo sizing and ergonomics. What width and diameter combo feels the best in your hand, as well as on the string for you? I feel a 45mm width and 54mm diameter works best for me. Time and time again I will be bashing my spaghetti fingers when trying to land chopsticks combos because the yoyo is just too big. In combination the 45mm width isn’t too crazy, so it feels very comfortable in the hand, and won’t get in the way when you do denser tricks. But all in all this feels like the perfect distribution for me in terms of the overall measurements. 54-56 mm diameter and width depends, if I’m playing well, 42ish mm. if I’m playing like poo or feeling lazy, 46ish mm ---

I’m not too picky on dia, but 49mm wide is pushing it for me. I favor 46-47mm width ---

51-52 Diameter, anything for width; but I guess a 45 width is good for me. ---

60mm dia fits my hands best. I got big hands. ---

I don’t have huge hands, so I prefer a diameter of 56 mm or less. As far as width, my widest throws are ~49 mm, which is fine. Width really depends on the yoyo. I really like having a variety. ---

I prefer 45 width, 55 diameter. My hands are not small but when a yoyo gets beyond those dimensions I tend to want to pick it up less and less. ---

It’s interesting how many people prefer throws with a less than a 56 mm diameter, when 56 seems to be the norm. ---

15 years ago, it was around 50 mm diameter. (Project, 888, Hat Trick…) Now, it is more 54 - 55 mm. For width, 44 - 45 mm is my standard, but I need to try wide yoyo to see what it’s like… ---

70ish diameter and 50ish width is my favorite. I like the raw power boost that comes from the diameter, and I really like the extra visual presence bigger yoyos have during tricks. If yoyos around this diameter get too wide though I think they just kinda become annoying to play. But ~70x50 is still perfectly in the realm of “I can play this exactly like I’d play any other yoyo.” ---

For ergonomics: Diameter: 52-54mm Width: 45-47mm For play, width can vary but I like yoyos with that diameter. Smaller the width, the floatier (typically) ---

Diameter: 54 with some nice flattened rims is my ideal, but generally, most things from 53-62mm Width: 42-56mm ---

Dia: 52-58 w: 41-60 I’m not particularly picky. As long as it has a bearing and feels good on the hand and string I’ll be happy with it.
