# how to remove silicone from yoyo

i need to know the best way to get rid of the silicone in the yoyo in case you need to replace it. should i just like scape it off w/ a knife? it seems like that would scratch the yoyo

Take a toothpick or something thin but not too sharp. You just stick it right into the silicone and pull it out. Should be easy to pull out. If your silicone doesn’t come out clean, still use your dull toothpick and rub out any silicone left in the gap.

i tried that but i used a crappy silicone so i can only pick it off in little bits

Sometimes that’s how it comes out regardless of the type you used.

That’s why you gotta “scratch” it. Don’t worry, the toothpick wont hurt the yoyo.
